1. You are a Database Adminsitrator Team Leader in the organization. Last week, you and your team upgraded database mangement system with newer veriosn (Oracle 8i to 10g) to fulfills the demand of new database applications. After testing all data and legacy application you feel satisfied with your team work and efforts. You decided to write a report about database administration tasks you have done last week:


Your report includes: (1 x 5 = 5 marks)

1.1 Role and purpose of database administrator
1.2 Different tasks performed by a database adminstrator
1.3 Tools used for monitoring database performance
1.4 You have facilitated team work in developing and upgrading database applications

1.5 Complete database architecture (Physical and logical)

Hint:

We ‘ve installed newer version of Oracle in database lab. Please use the same version for giving different examples.

Manage database instances

2. Perform the following tasks: (2.1, 2.2: 2.5 + 2.3: 2.5 = 5 Marks)

2.1 Create atleast three database instances in same computer followed by OFA rules
2.2 Provide details/ documentation of created databases. (Explore your created
database: Provide Size, total files, configuration option, etc.)
2.3 Create a schedule for monitoring and maintenance of each and every database
instance

Managing Database Storage

3. The organization’s data model should reflect its key business processes and decision-making requirements. Data planning may need to be performed to make sure that the organization data model delivers information effectively for its business processes and enhances organizational performance. Designing a database is an organizational endeavor.
(2.5 x 2= 5 Marks)


3.1 How will you convert a data model into physical database schema? Provide an
example by using Oracle database system. Use all possible storage options before creatign schema for the data model.

3.2 How will you analyze database storage requirement for the organization?
Please write appropriate steps or your own plan.

المهام والمسئوليات والوصف وظيفي ( Job Description and Responsibilities) :

1. أخذ النسخ الإحتياطيه طبقا لاستراتيجيه الباكاب فى الشركه والمتفق عليها - Database Backup

2. الصيانه اليوميه والمتابعه اليوميه لكل انشطه قاعده البيانات

3. تامين قاعده البيانات باستخدام كافه الواسائل المتاحه (كود برمجى – ادوات اضافيه ....الخ ) بالتعاون مع مدير الشبكه

4. الدراسه المستمرة لمستوى اداء وسرعه وإستجابة قواعد البيانات Database Performance Tuning

5. القيام بكل الاعمال التى تتطلب برمجه اكواد ووحدات برمجيه Program Units فيما يخص تسهيل كثير من مهام DBA

6. القيام بكل عمليات تحديث قاعده البيانات وعمليات migration وكل انشطه Sql-Loader

7. متابعه إصدار المستخدمين والصلاحيات الممنوحه.

by database configuraton assitant اعتقد موجود ضمن الاوراكل وتعمل create وبهالطريقه تنشاء قاعدة بيانات وتعمل هالطريقه 3 مرات لانه لكل قاعدة بيانات instance
واما الديتيلز عن الداتابيس الي عملته في نفس البرنامج راح تحصل الديتيلز عن حجم الداتابيس والباقي البيانات
